It may be the cleaners’ job to clean the establishments they work at but it is also our duty as civilised citizens to maintain our own personal hygiene and the surrounding area. If you’re on public transportation like the bus, LRT or MRT, be sure to keep your trash with you until you reach your stop.
We would also advise you to go to the restroom before boarding public transportation so that there won’t be any messy accidents. Yes, unfortunately, this has happened before, and it has happened again. Rapid KL recently shared something absolutely revolting that makes us wonder how did people ‘survive’ at the time of the incident.
Rapid KL posted a photo on their official Facebook page last Friday (9th September) of what appears to be poop smeared on the floor of one of its buses. The caption on the post reads, “Dear Passengers, for the sake of mutual comfort, we kindly ask for your cooperation to maintain personal hygiene and the surrounding area while on the bus or train”.
Netizens didn’t want to believe what they saw in the photo was actually poop at first and speculated that it could’ve just been food, but the company replied to its own post in the comments to clarify that it was indeed human excrement and not food. What’s worse is that this is apparently the second time it happened. Thankfully, none of the mess got on the seats as they appeared to be clean in the photo.
Netizens flooded the comments section feeling disgusted as to who could’ve done this and how it could’ve happened. Some speculated that it was a child who had a stomachache and that the parent(s) didn’t have anything to clean up the mess. Others believe that the culprit may have been a foreigner as they claimed Malaysians don’t use the bus as often as them. Few suggested that Rapid KL should install CCTVs so that it’ll be easier to catch anyone doing this in the future.
Rapid KL did not disclose where or when the incident happened, nor did they give any further updates. Regardless of what actually happened or who the culprit was, let this be a reminder for all of us to keep our surroundings clean so that we don’t cause any inconvenience to everyone else.
