Not everyone can land their dream job. Some would have to work in the worst conditions just to put food on the table. Consider the job of a garbage collector; even if it paid well, few people would want to do it. However, as long as you are passionate about what you do and work hard at it regardless of the circumstances, you will reap the benefits.
A couple of days ago, a Malaysian working as a garbage collector in Singapore posted a video to his TikTok account @ezzaiky7, which drew the attention of many netizens. In the video, he shared his daily routine as a garbage collector in Singapore, as well as his salary, which amounted to nearly RM10,000.

From the video, he can be seen working quickly and enthusiastically without complaining. He even turned around and smiled at the camera. According to the video, a garbage collector in Singapore can earn an average salary between RM6k and RM9.6k.
At the time of writing (Monday, 22nd August), the video has obtained 868.6k views, 32.7k likes and more than 700 comments. Netizens had praised the man for his commitment towards his job. “Thank you for your contribution as not many Singaporeans would want to do this job,” a TikTok user commented.

Among the compliments, however, were some who questioned the man’s job and claimed that the salary in Malaysia is higher than in Singapore. In a video posted on Saturday (13th August), the man responded to the comment by claiming that he was not educated enough to earn such a high salary in Malaysia.
What matters is not what you do, but how you do it. Working hard at your job is already admirable and should serve as an example.
