Living in Malaysia means that certain things are commonplace. Traffic jams, hot and wet weather and of course, who can forget the unexpected water disruptions? Well unfortunately, we had another one this morning (11th August).
Air Selangor announced the news via their Facebook at 10am, explaining why certain areas would be experiencing a water disruption today. According to the announcement, this is due to an accident which took place on the KM75.9 Karak-Bentong Highway heading to Kuala Lumpur yesterday.

The post stated that the accident caused a chemical contamination at Sungai Semantan, Pahang. As a result, they had to stop all tasks at the Langat 2 Water Treatment Plant (Langat 2 WTP) around 4.30am today. They went on to say that 397 areas in three regions of Air Selangor will be experiencing supply disruption.
The areas are located in Petaling, Kuala Lumpur and Hulu Langat. The disruption, which began at 10am, is expected to continue until 3.30pm when they will resume operations at LRA Langat 2. Then, they will be distributing treated water supply to consumers after the system has been stabilised. In the meantime, water tanks will be mobilised to consumers with priority given to critical premises.

If you are experiencing water disruption, don’t worry too much. It will (hopefully) be back before you know it.
