We know vacations are supposed to be fun, the time to let loose and not stress about work and other trivial stuff. But does that mean, you can mess up the homestay you’re living in or have a party with the music blasting until your eardrums burst? NO, IT DOES NOT!
A video has gone viral on Facebook after being posted by the owner Andy Suffean Jr. of a group of drunk Indian men hanging around in a pool at a homestay in Pulau Langkawi which angered netizens due to their indecent behaviours. Netizens were also outraged after witnessing a particular action done by one of the men that was neither responsible nor respectable and not to mention dangerous, as well.
Facebook user, Andy Suffean Jr., had uploaded the video on a Facebook page called Info Terkini Apa Hari Ini? (i-TAHI). According to the video, the men can be seen in the pool at the homestay, surrounded by cans of alcohol floating around with the music blasting out loud. Currently, the original owner of the video @amdvjayamd had deleted the video from his TikTok account.
Apparently their “fun” didn’t end there. From another video that went viral, not only did the men trash the homestay pool, they had supposedly damaged the Vellfire vehicle they had rented. After watching the viral video, the owner of the vehicle had contacted the men but they did not respond to the call. And that’s not all! A road user spotted one of the men sitting on the roof of the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV).
At the time of writing (Monday, 25th July), the post on Facebook had received 2.2k reactions, 1.1k comments and 1.5k shares from netizens. Repulsed by the actions of the men, netizens however, refused to blame their behaviours based on their race and focused rather on the inconsiderate attitude of the individuals. Some had also shared similar experiences with such men.
As of now, the Langkawi District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Shariman Ashari has confirmed the search of a man that is believed to be drunk and behaved in an indecent manner in public surrounding the area from the video of the man sitting on the vehicle and will be investigated under Section 21, Minor Offences Act 1955 for drunkenness and indecent behaviour in public areas.

The men have also been banned by the rental car owner and homestay agents. This is not how Malaysians should behave! We urge everyone to be more responsible of your actions and considerate of others.
