Welcome back, Kim Seon Ho (김선호)! After several months of hiatus, the actor finally made his much-awaited public appearance during the press call event for his new play “Touching The Void”.
During the event, the 36-year-old came forward and apologised over the past controversy involving his former partner. The event, which was held at the Daehangno Art One Theater Hall in Jongno-gu, Seoul, marks Kim’s first appearance since the shocking scandal broke out last year.
Ahead of the conference meeting, Kim came up on the stage with a handwritten letter. “I thought this was the right thing to do, so I came out by myself first. I’m a bit nervous, cause I thought I would talk incoherently, so I wrote this (letter) down. I hope you guys can understand with an open heart,” he told the reporters in attendance.
“I am really sorry for sharing this at the press call event. Many people worked hard on this play from spring to summer of this year. I feel like I’ve caused a hindrance to everyone, so once again I apologise to the team and also to everyone,” and began shedding tears.
The “Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha” star added by saying, “I am truly sorry for causing concern to many people. Looking back, I’ve reflected a lot on my shortcomings. All I can say is that I will put forth the effort to become a better actor and a better person. I am really sorry.”

In case you didn’t know, “Touching The Void” is based on a true story of mountaineers Joe Simpson (played by Kim) and Simon Yates, who climbed the western ice wall of the Ciula Grande in the Peruvian Andes in 1985. The play kicked off its run earlier on 8th July, and will run until 18th September.
