BLINKs, are you guys ready? Apparently, fans are getting a Jennie and Rosé sub-unit soon! Recently, Ryan Tedder appeared to drop some hints about his upcoming project with the two BLACKPINK (블랙핑크) members.
In case you missed it, YG Entertainment announced that the group will be releasing new music next month. The good news didn’t stop just there, ladies and gents! It was also revealed that the girls will also embark on a new world tour following that.

Earlier this month, one fan came up with a post on Twitter, saying that Tedder might be involved in BLACKPINK’s upcoming release. Tedder previously co-wrote the song “Bet You Wanna” (feat. Cardi B), which was included on their first studio album. As per Twitter user @RoseannTheAce, the music producer was spotted reposting Hypebeast’s Instagram post about the group’s comeback.
In addition, the OneRepublic frontman also reposted Rosé’s Instagram post in July of last year. Allegedly, the post features the Aussie vocalist recording with her fellow member in Tedder’s studio, to which he commented “(It) wuz a good day.” The picture was taken when the two BLACKPINK members were in Los Angeles. At that time, YG Entertainment revealed that both Jennie and Rosé were “working on new music”.

Recently, Tedder appeared to have confirmed that he had worked with Jennie and Rosé on a new track. Having said that, the music producer didn’t provide any specific details on whether the two will be debuting as an official subunit for the group, or perhaps coming up with a unit song to be included in BLACKPINK’s upcoming album.
In a recent interview during “Good Morning America’s 2022 Summer Concert” series, Tedder shared, “All I can confirm is that I have worked on BLACKPINK material. I did write with the girls themselves.” He then added, “I did, I think, one of the only sessions they’ve done outside of Korea, we did in LA. With Jennie, Rosé, a handful of them.”

When asked to describe the two BLACKPINK members, Tedder responded by saying, “They’re phenomenal, they’re so sweet, they’re so talented.” He also revealed that he has been a huge fan of the “Kill This Love” hit-makers. To quote the Grammy winner, “I’ve got their posters all over my wall, my wife thinks it’s weird.”
“I genuinely love BLACKPINK, so I can’t tell you what’s coming out. I think one or two of my songs have made the album from what I’ve been told,” Ryan further revealed during the interview session. “And the stuff that I did with them, I can just say that it’s very true to their sound. They wrote it, so it was very much me just supporting them and their ideas.” He then concluded by stating that their upcoming music will be “cool as hell”.
Speaking of BLACKPINK, hawk-eyed fans recently spotted Jennie in the first trailer for HBO’s upcoming TV series titled “The Idol”. Last month, it was reported that the 25-year-old idol had been offered a role in the series. So far, YG has yet to confirm Jennie’s casting on the show. That said, fans were still able to spot her in the teaser trailer for the series. You can check it out here (and fast forward to 0:33):
