A woman was tragically killed after a motorcycle she was riding with her husband got hit by an SUV near the KM10 Jalan Kunau-Tawau. The tragic incident reportedly took place on Sunday (10th July) evening.
According to Berita Harian, the 38-year-old victim, who’s an Indonesian citizen, was pronounced dead at the scene. Meanwhile, her 39-year-old husband and their seven-year-old son only suffered minor injuries.

In his statement, Kunak District Police Chief, Supt. Sabarudin Rahmat, revealed that the family was travelling on their Yamaha 135 LC motorcycle, when a Proton X70 car came from behind and crashed into them. The driver, a 54-year-old man, was headed to Kunak town and was overtaking another vehicle in front.
At the same time, the motorcycle was, coincidentally, making a right turn into a junction, Sabarudin said. “The husband was flung onto the roadside following the collision while the woman and her child, who were riding pillion, were dragged under the car. The man and his son only suffered scrape wounds, but the woman died at the scene,” the police official stated. Meanwhile, the Proton X70 driver and his wife escaped unscathed.
Not long after the unfortunate news came to light, netizens were left brokenhearted after they discovered that the female victim held a Facebook Live session, just moments before the incident occurred. A snippet taken from the live broadcast was also reposted on TikTok. Feel free to watch the footage here:
