The most highly anticipated bookstore in Malaysia this year has finally arrived! Welcome to TSUTAYA BOOKS! (ツタヤブックスへようこそ!) BUKIT JALIL TSUTAYA BOOKS at Pavilion Bukit Jalil is Japan’s largest bookstore chain’s and first ever store in Southeast Asia. While it’s only a single-storey bookstore, the Malaysian’s branch is home to over 240k specially curated books, stationary and decorative goods!

We’ve got the opportunity to check out BUKIT JALIL TSUTAYA BOOKS on the day of the launch (Thursday, 7th July) and we can guarantee that book lovers all over Malaysia will pass out (figuratively of course). Just like a kid in a candy store, TSUTAYA BOOKS got us excited so we’re sharing with you all the reasons you should head down over:

1. SO MANY BOOKS!

The obvious reason of course. According to their official Instagram, TSUTAYA BOOKS have at least 165,000 titles at the store and this was before the doors were even open! From biographies, education, limited-editions, mangas, novels and children’s books, they got it all and numbers will certainly increase with more demands from customers.

2. Largest Children’s Edutainment Section

Bring your kids, younger relatives or students! The store has over 20k children’s book titles from over 10 genres including children’s literature, cognitive development, picture books and art books, encyclopaedias, creative handicrafts and much more. Definitely a place of discovery for little readers.

3. A Cafe to lounge and unwind

A bookstore isn’t complete without a cafe. Okay, not necessarily true but you’ll certainly enjoy freshly brewed coffee and some yummy desserts while you’re reading. Pick a book from any shelf and lounge around at the cafe. TSUTAYA BOOKS is also having a promotion now where you can redeem a free cup of coffee or lemonade when you spend at least RM100 at the store.

4. TSUTAYA BOOKS Membership App

5. Aesthetically pleasing photos for your Instagram!

Want to make your Instagram feed 10 times betters? You don’t have to go far. Every corner of TSUTAYA BOOKS is basically made for your social medias. Take as many photos and videos as you want and you don’t even need to edit or add filters to them. They’ll look just as amazing as in real life. Get your cameras ready, grab a book and strike a pose!
