You know those times when you come across old mementos when you’re cleaning up your house and rearranging belongings and your stuff? For instance, you found an old box containing some old letters, photos and maybe even toys and you start reminiscing. Talk about #ThrowbackThursday or #FlashbackFriday.
Speaking of #FlashbackFriday, Dato Fazley posted his flashback on his Instagram by sharing something from his past and we along with his followers got to know more about the singing Masterchef’s childhood.

Dato Fazley Yaakob posted a photo on his Instagram earlier today (Friday, 24th June) sharing his old school report book and his student ID when he was 13 years old. “Here’s me at 13 years old. What a nerd hahaha”, he said in his caption. The 44-year-old also shared how he went to multiple schools around the world, going from one school to another as his family moved a lot during his childhood.
“I was born Negeri Sembilan, went to school at Jakarta International School in Jakarta, then attended Vermont Avenue school in Los Angeles, back to Malaysia at SRK Jalan Peel then Maktab Yayasan Pelajaran Mara, Bangi and then finally at St. John Institution, Bukit Nenas”. Honestly, we’re impressed he can remember all of them. Do you even remember what you had for breakfast yesterday?
He ended his caption asking if any of his followers were once his schoolmates at any of the schools he mentioned. Some netizens came forward and addressed themselves as his former classmates at specific schools including fellow celebrity chef, Nik Michael Imran who apparently went to St. John’s with him.

Attending multiple schools and moving around a lot to different countries, it’s definitely no surprise the celebrity chef can sing in multiple languages. In the video above, you can hear Dato Fazley singing in Cantonese, Malay and Spanish at the Starbucks Dream Beyond Mini-Tour event.
