An all-male project group from China has drawn keen attention from K-netizens over their concerning lack of activities. Apparently, this boy group barely had group activities, despite coming from a super famous reality competition program.
IXFORM is the boy group that was formed through the third season of ”Youth With You” (in which BLACKPINK’s Lisa also appeared as a trainer), and is slated to promote for 1.5 years. The group consists of nine talented members. Sadly though, after making their official debut in July last year, the group members only made a total of three appearances together.
After releasing their debut EP “Coming” on November 2021, the boys in IXFORM barely met each other or worked together. So far, the members only appeared on three occasions – when the group was formed, when they first promoted, and also when they released their debut single.
Needless to say, Korean netizens couldn’t help but express their shock and sympathy upon learning about the fate of the boy group. Some even named IXFORM as “the least active boy group in history”. Here are some of the comments left by them:
- “That’s pretty miserable.”
- “The group didn’t have a proper debut.”
- “The fact that they will be disbanding following their fourth appearance, what kind of group is this?”
- “They technically lasted for a year, but I don’t think that counts.”
- “Their debut was so obscure, I don’t even remember about it.”
The survival show “Youth With You 3” attracted huge attention from fans, particularly due to Lisa making her return as a dance mentor. However, it was soon embroiled in a few controversies. Among those that made the headlines include Wei Hongyu’s cheating scandal, Tony Yu Jingtian’s departure, and also the milk-wasting controversy.
Eventually, the live finale was cancelled, and the top 9 contestants made their debut in complete silence.
