What do newlyweds look forward to on their wedding day? Besides celebrating the joyous occasion with the people who matter, next on the list is probably receiving wedding gifts from the guests! Friends, family and colleagues are usually spoiling the new husband and wife with gifts such as household items as they begin their new journey together.
Of course if you want to get “creative” with your gifting, then you should probably reserve them for the bachelor and/or bachelorette party or wait till the wedding is over. This pair of newlyweds unfortunately did not expect to receive something embarrassing during the ceremony. Here’s what happened:

A video that’s been going viral on both TikTok and Twitter shows a newlywed couple receiving strange and inappropriate gifts from the groom’s friends. The gifts in question? Condoms. Yes, condoms. The original TikTok video has been deleted but reposted by @MALAYSIAVIRALL on Twitter, which now has over 1 million views. But why condoms out of all things?
Apparently, there’s been a trend on social media where newlyweds receive unusual gifts at their weddings like broomsticks, mops, a bag of rice, gas tanks and usually the couple would laugh along with everyone. This groom’s friends, however, thought it’d be funny to hop on the bandwagon by gifting the couple packs of condoms.
In the video, they each took turns to hand the groom one pack of condoms. The groom looked embarrassed while his bride looked confused and uncomfortable throughout the whole episode but still tried to stay calm and smile for the camera. Netizens reacted to the viral video by condemning this group of friends for pulling this prank during the couple’s wedding ceremony.
We understand that weddings are a joyous time where everyone gets to have fun and reunite with friends and family. Making jokes and laughing together are very much welcome but please remember to not go overboard with the jokes or else that may be your last invitation to future events.
