A local TikToker came under fire recently over suspicion of animal cruelty. For those who are wondering, the allegation came after a video of her giving a makeover to her pet monkey made its way online.

The video was reposted by a Twitter user from Indonesia known as Indi. It shows the TikTok user @miapikaso applying numerous cosmetic products on the monkey’s face. The clip garnered up to 4 million views, Tribun News reported.

Bantu report lagi tweeps. Monyet dipakaikan make up.

Maskaranya hampir kena mata. Liptintnya dijilat padahal belom tentu food grade. Belum lagi resiko alergi.

The video starts with the woman patting the monkey (named Baim Jr.)’s face with a concealer stick. She was also spotted applying other cosmetics namely an eyeshadow and also a mascara to the poor animal. @miapikaso (who isn’t in the video) then remarked, “You look so cute.” She then finished off the “look” by putting lip tint on its lips.

“Please help me report this, tweeps. Its eyes almost got hit by the mascara. The monkey was also seen licking the lip tint, although it’s unsure that the product is safe for consumption. Not to mention, there might be risk of allergies (from the cosmetics),” Twitter user Indi, who’s also a wildlife biologist, remarked in her post.

Netizens were also left berated after seeing how the monkey was poorly treated by its owner. Most of them took to the comments section on Indi’s post to put the TikToker on blast. Others have also suggested for fellow social media users to lodge a report. Here are some of the comments left by them:

The controversial video has been deleted by the user, apparently due to the massive backlash.
