Miss Global is no ordinary beauty pageant as it’s an international pageant that empowers women by providing them with a platform to make a difference in the world. Our very own 2021 Miss Global Malaysia, Sandra Lim participated in this year’s Miss Global 2022 but it wasn’t only her brains and beauty that’s got everyone talking recently.

The Miss Global 2022 beauty pageant took place in Bali, Indonesia last weekend where Marie Sherry Ann Tormes of the Philippines was crowed as Miss Global. Our girl Sandra Lim was the 1st runner-up but she got more than just the title as she won the hearts of the audience for her selfless act.
Someone in the audience posted on TikTok where we can see the 21-year-old lined up with the other finalists when one of the presenters suddenly fell down a hole on stage after crowning Miss Lithuania, Sandra Boris as the third runner-up. The Malaysian representative was then seen rushing over to help the fallen man get back on stage.
She crouched down and extended her hand to make sure he’s okay while crew members rushed over to the stage. She stood nearby for a while before walking back to her original position after the situation was under control when more crew members came to help the presenter out of the hole. Netizens in the comments from both Indonesia and Malaysia praised the model for her fast action and empathy.
After the crowning ceremony ended, Sandra posted on her social media thanking her fans for their support and congratulating Marie for her win as Miss Global 2022. “To my big sister @shaneytormes , I’m proud of you for closing your chapter with the perfect full-stop! Enjoy your reign as Miss Global, I know you will do amazingly❤️,” she said in her caption.
Though she didn’t win first place at Miss Global 2022, she’ll always be Miss Global to her Malaysian fans and after her selfless act was caught on camera, it’s no surprise that she’ll continue to win the hearts of many in her future endeavors.
