The Miss Hong Kong 2022 pageant (香港小姐競選) has already kicked off to a promising start with its preliminary rounds drawing many potential hopefuls to the beauty competition. According to reports, the first week alone drew more than 100 applicants (including in-person and virtual interviews).
Even Hong Kong actor Eric Tsang (曾志偉) and TVB Executive Virginia Lok (樂易玲) have teased that this year’s crop of Asian beauties could possibly exceed last year’s contestants. Industry experts are already eyeing several frontrunners who showed up at the recent audition rounds.

The woman who’s been gaining quite the buzz is 27-year-old Denice Lam (林卓錡) – who is the daughter of ’80s TVB heartthrob Wilson Lam (林俊贤). Denice is no stranger to the Miss Hong Kong world. Before her modelling career took off, she took part in Miss Hong Kong but got the cut during the early rounds. Since 27 is the cut off age, it’s safe to assume that Denise is going to give it her best shot to win the crown. Her dad, of course, has been supportive. “He said ‘If you want to take part, just go for it!’” she told the media.
Another contestant who caught the media’s attention is Shiga Lin’s (連詩雅) friend and colleague, Sharon Ying (邢慧敏). She was also managed by the same modeling company as Shiga. Having been in the entertainment industry for a few years do offer some slight advantage. But don’t count out other women who already have an extensive following on social media. In addition to Denice and Sharon, here are early favourites:
Denice Lam (林卓錡)
Sharon Ying (邢慧敏)
Tiffany Jane (傅樂兒)
Blaire
Bianca
Sheryl Lam
Mira
Robin
Cecca
Alina
