Last week, Remy Ishak received backlash for showing off his thighs, which is considered as “aurat” in Islam. However, rapper and activist Caprice has also received conflicting reactions from netizens for his thigh’s “cameo” in his Instagram video he posted two days ago.
Jumping on the TikTok “Marry Me” trend bandwagon, the 33-year-old and his wife Farra Inalis’s homemade video has received hundreds of comments, including criticism toward him for a scene deemed inappropriate by them. The scene depicts Caprice relieving himself on the toilet with his underwear on.
Netizens took to the “Wat Lek Wat Peace” and “Lai Lah” singer’s Instagram to criticise him over the video. “You think it’s funny even if it’s for marketing? You talk bad about others but what about yourself?”, “Your “aurat” is from the knee and above, not just covering your knee,” netizens wrote. Another netizen added sarcastically, “Good for you, wearing boxers for a video”.
The video was uploaded to promote vape flavours, which his wife held while doing the “Marry Me” shake routine. One netizen even said, “You’re making a big deal out of his “aurat”, don’t you see his wife? Malays are weird. There’s chaos when a man shows his “aurat”. Cannot say the same for women.”

His fans seem unbothered and left him complimentary comments under the video. Netizens do seem to overreact over trivial things. Celebrities such as Aedy Ashraf and Intan Najuwa were also attacked online for the same reason. Do you think the netizens are overreacting?
In other news, Caprice’s wife, Farra posted on Instagram where she answered a fan’s question on how she usually deals with hate comments. “Even in the afterlife, you can’t please everyone. My sins are between me and God. I will ask for forgiveness and repent when the time comes. Perhaps sending hate comments brings them happiness,” she said.
