It’s always important to learn about other countries and cultures so that you can be more aware of not only the social issues but as well as what to expect when you go visit these countries. You wouldn’t want to be too ignorant when you visit a place with a completely different social norm.

Nothing is always as it seems and the countries you visit are not necessarily as how you’ve seen on TV or movies. This American woman recently posted a TikTok video of her trip in Malaysia where she made clear to her followers that she’s not in a third world country like they imagined.

American TikTok user Tiffany Werner is a travelling content creator who posts videos of all the places she visits around the world. A lot of her recent videos documented her activities during her stay here in Malaysia and one of those videos is going viral on social media after reaching 2 million views on her TikTok.

The travelling mother recently posted a video with the caption, “Wow!! Blown away”. In the video, we can see Tiffany entering Pavilion Kuala Lumpur. She made the video to basically share with her followers that Malaysia is not a third world country like they imagined.

“For all the people in America that think that I’m in some third world country, does this look like a third world country to you?, she said as she shows off the lovely sight of the mall. She then added that American malls are not the same as the malls here in Malaysia. It was interesting to see her singling out Pavilion KL, much to everyone’s surprise.

I will be back!! Thank you for all the love and support! #kl #fyp #malaysia @Werner family travel

Though her intention was to educate the world about Malaysia, netizens’ reaction to the video were mixed. Some were welcoming and thankful to Tiffany for setting the record straight that Malaysia is not a third world country but a developing country. Others were attacking the mindset of Americans for being ignorant of the world outside of their country.

Whatever the case, the content creator seems to have enjoyed her stay here in our beloved country and hopes to come back. May we continue to develop as a country so that the rest of the world do not think that we live in tree houses in the middle of a rain forest.
