Hari Raya is a wholesome celebration where everyone can get together with close family and friends. In every neighbourhood, there’s usually at least 1 house hosting an Open House for everyone to come and enjoy the food and celebration.
Establishments around Malaysia also host their own Open House events to celebrate together with the public. Some are extravagant while others are more simple and intimate. But this Open House event may have gone a little too far and are now on police’s radar.

A series of videos posted on TikTok were recently taken down but not before going viral on social media. One video apparently shows a couple of transgender dancers performing in a semi-naked state at an Open House event at Central Walk i-City, Shah Alam last Saturday (28th May). The dancers in bikini were doing a dance act that involved the use of fire.
While the original videos have been deleted, Traffic Info Crew managed to save and post some of the videos on their Facebook page. The event was suspected to be organised by a social media influencer who goes by the name of Cik Lala. Police were called to the scene and the influencer has since been arrested.
According to the Shah Alam District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Mohd Iqbal Ibrahim, the police received a report by I-SOHO’s Joint Management Body (JMB) of the viral dance performance happening at Unit B-UG-12 Upper Grand Floor. “The complainant alleged that the uncomfortable event had tarnished the image of I-City as a tourist attraction in Selangor,” he said.

Other than the provocative dance performance, I-SOHO residents also complained about the loud music and fireworks going off that night. A resident managed to film the fireworks going off right outside their apartment window. Screenshots of the complaints can be seen in the JMB WhatsApp group.

This case is now being investigated under Section 509 of the Penal Code, Section 6 of the Explosives Act and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act. While we’re allowed to have fun at Open Houses, let’s remember to not cause any disturbances to nearby residents or do anything that’s considered inappropriate.
