No one ever claimed that life would be a bed of roses. As everyone knows and has experienced, it’s full of ups and downs. Sometimes however, the downs can get to be a little too much. When that happens, it’s never a shame to admit you need some pampering.
Life is far too short to not let yourself enjoy things. So, why not treat yourself to some high class afternoon tea at EQ Kuala Lumpur? It’s certainly a classy tea-time fit for royalty!
EQ Kuala Lumpur has recently launched their Dolce Vita afternoon tea, held at the sophisticated Bottega Lounge. Inspired by the Italian phrase which hails to a sweet life, EQ’s Dolce Vita afternoon tea offers delectable treats paired with equally delightful beverages. The spread is offered on a three-tiered stand sculpted by Malaysian artist Nizam Abdullah to satisfy your eyes in addition to your tongue.
We recommend starting the spread with its savoury sandwiches. You’ll have a choice of organic egg finger sandwiches, monsieur chicken loaf with cheese Pierini, smoked duck with forest mushroom and smoked salmon bagel with sour cream. For those who love salmon, this combination is a must-try as its tender flavour goes surprisingly well with the sour cream.
After that, it’s time to satisfy your sweet tooth. If you are a certified chocolate lover, you can’t go wrong with their strawberry bouquet which allows you to dip fresh strawberries in chocolate. Otherwise, we suggest sampling their Earl Gray orange chocolate tart for a artful blend of tea and chocolate with just a hint of orange to tie it all together.
For berry lovers, there is the exotic mango shortcake and berries lime pistachio opera. The mango shortcake offers a sour balance to the saccharine berries lime pistachio opera. If you love macaroons, don’t forget to give their raspberry vanilla macaroons a go! Finish up your delightful meal with some buttery scones by picking either the California raisin scone or a plain but delectable one.
Of course, it won’t be tea time without any beverages. Visitors will all be served a pot of tea, supplied by JING. Earl Grey, Assam, chamomile and mint are best recommended for the meal. However, if you prefer something with an extra kick, do try their Bottega Prosecco.
EQ Kuala Lumpur’s Dolce Vita afternoon tea is available on weekdays (12pm -5pm) and weekends (either 12pm-2.30pm) and 3pm-5pm). Whether you choose to take tea alone or with a guest, it’s certainly a classy experience you should have at least once, as a treat.
