18 years of ups and downs together with Sheila On 7 (SO7) are now over for its drummer, Brian Kresna Putro. He is unaware of the reason why he has been dropped from the rock band just before their 26th anniversary. His ‘departure’ was officially announced on Sheila On 7 Facebook page on 10th May after it was reported that he left the group on 7th April.
The controversy that stems from Brian’s alleged departure shocked and saddened the drummer who hails from Yogyakarta. He refused to comment on the issue to refrain from the truth being twisted. He also requested any questions regarding the incident to go directly toward the other members of SO7.

“I still cannot talk about the ordeal because honestly I am still surprised and upset. I’m confused. I still love SO7 and there was no way I would leave this group on my own. It would be appropriate for you (media friends) to ask SO7 themselves for an assuring answer. I’m afraid if I alone give the statement, they would have their own answers too,” Brian explained to Detik Hot.
During this trying time, he added that SO7’s fan club, Sheilagank, has given him plenty of encouragement. Brian said, “Sheilagank strengthens me. I read all their comments and thank you so much (for) them.” The drummer also disclosed that he still plans to keep working in the music industry, be it on-stage or backstage.

Brian joined the group back in 2004 when he replaced the original drummer, Anton. Sheila On 7 has sold more than 8 million copies of albums in their home country, Indonesia and are famous for their hit singles such as “Melompat Lebih Tinggi” and “Berhenti Berharap”.
