Gatita Yan (Tong Lee Yan) recently made the news when she went clubbing over the weekend. That particular clubbing activity made headlines when someone gave away RM100,000 in cash to the crowd!
The OnlyFans creator had attempted to stall the potential backlash from their actions. However, the man himself recently decided to come forward to explain. As it turns out, cryptocurrency entrepreneur and luxury watch dealer Tay Wee Shen (郑伟盛) did have a reason for his actions.

Wee Shen recently did an interview with China Press about his publicity stunt. The 30-year-old entrepreneur explained he had intended to use it to promote his business. He’d apparently met Gatita a few months ago and found they shared a love for luxury watches. When she recently invited him to go clubbing with other internet personalities, he saw an opportunity to get his name out.
The entrepreneur shared that American YouTuber MrBeast had been the inspiration behind his stunt of ‘shooting’ money into the crowd with a money gun. “I didn’t expect my impromptu idea to cause huge repercussions online,” he admitted. “I didn’t intend (for it) to have a negative impact on society and the public.” Wee Shen apologised for his actions and added that he hadn’t actually ‘given away’ the bulk of his cash. Apparently, only a small amount had landed outside their walled-off area. Most of the cash which remained inside the small room were later collected.
Wee Shen emphasised that his actions weren’t meant to show off his wealth. He had simply wanted to grab attention, and that he did – and then some! Shortly after the stunt, Wee Shen’s Instagram followers increased by about 9,000. He has also been consulted on his areas of expertise; cryptocurrency and luxury watches. However, Wee Shen claimed he hopes to arrange more events with internet celebrities. Proceeds from said events would apparently be donated.

The entrepreneur apparently graduated from the University of Melbourne and majored in accounting and finance. While Wee Shen loves watches, he also has a passion for golfing. He added that he is enthusiastic about public welfare and has often attended charity events with his parents.
Well, Wee Shen’s publicity stunt certainly worked! However, we hope that his next ‘stunt’ won’t cause much lash back. In the meantime, Wee Shen seems busy promoting watches with Gatita Yan on his Instagram.
