Legendary singer and actress Anita Sarawak has broke her silence once more. Her ‘disappearance’ for the past twelve years has invoked displeasing rumours which saddened Anita and her family members in Malaysia.
The songstress – famous for her hits such as “Asmara” and “Seksis” – contacted former entertainment journalists Shuib Taib and Roslen Fadzil. Friends of Anita herself, the brothers had the opportunity to talk to the singer and her husband Mahathir sometime in the early days of Eid of this year.

Roslen Fadzil told Murai MY, “I was shocked when Kak Nita (Anita) was willing to talk to me through the phone. The first thing that came to my mind was asking about her health and wellbeing, and alhamdulillah they are both well. From Kak Nita’s voice itself is enough to confirm that she is healthy and happy.”
The singer is sad about the false rumours circling around her and her husband abroad, according to Roslan. “Kak Nita expressed her feelings of sadness and disappointment reading those false articles about her marriage. She was also shocked to know there are fictitious stories of her being sick,” he added.
Shuib Taib, who is Roslen’s younger brother was last contacted by the couple recently via WhatsApp. Mahathir replied to the former journalist’s birthday greeting and indirectly confirmed that they were well and still happy together.
For those who don’t know, Anita Sarawak ‘went away’ to the United States and settled for a normal life there. She has been living in Las Vegas for the past twelve years with her husband and the couple has been undetected by the media ever since.
