The 31st SEA Games is in full swing at the moment and sports fans have been talking about it non-stop. With over 50 sports in the games, it’s hard not to discuss on what’s going on. It’s even harder to tune in to watch your favourite sports and root for your favourite athletes since everything is happening all at once.
Speaking of favourite athletes, 1 particular local athlete has been talked about recently and we can definitely see why. Malaysian Gymnast Sharul Aimy recently competed in the Gymnastics category but the commentary were more than just his gymnastics skills.

Malaysia’s very own athlete Sharul Aimy recently competed at the 31st SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam where he managed to finish 3rd in the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics category. The 20-year-old’s performance was posted on Astro Arena’s YouTube channel.
The sports commentator in the video described everything that was going on as it happened live – from the athlete’s expression and his performance, to the crowd’s reaction. While he did talk about Sharul’s performance, netizens couldn’t help but feel entertained when the commentator started talking about the gymnast’s visually pleasing appearance.
The Astro Arena commentator said in his live commentary, “the one who will have many fans who will idolise him just like the other athletes not only with his good looks but as well with his skills that he’s about to showcase”. He then proceed to talk about Sharul’s performance for the rest of the event.

Netizens were entertained by the commentators comments on the gymnast’s handsome face and some even agreed that Sharul Aimy’s looks is definitely worth talking about. Some even compared the Bronze medal winner to politician Syed Saddiq as the two share some resemblances.


In case you didn’t know, there were 2 Malaysian male gymnasts competing in the Men’s Artistic Gymnastics category; Tan Fu Jie and Muhammad Sharul Aimy. The two made the country proud as they won Silver and Bronze respectively in the saddle truss event.
