Chill In The City With A Staycation At InterContinental Hotel KL

Everyone is abuzz with the holiday season right now, and we can’t blame you! After all, who doesn’t love a good holiday? However, these nice long breaks aren’t always available and staying at home on the weekends can get a little dry. Not to mention actually planning a full-length holiday can be more stressful than the vacation itself.

Well, if that’s the case, why not take a short staycation nearby? For instance, at the InterContinental Hotel KL. We got to opportunity to experience an overnight stay, and here’s our honest take on it.

Of course, the first thing you’ll want to check out are the rooms. We were given a spacious King Classic Room, which can comfortably house two people. The king-sized bed doesn’t take up much space, but certainly offers enough room for you to sprawl out comfortably and not touch the edges. Other features of the room include a work desk, a mini fridge, a CBTL coffee/tea maker and plenty of plug points spread around.

The bathroom itself is equally spacious and luxurious, with both a shower and a bathtub. As such, after a long day of being outside, feel free to choose between a nice hot shower or an indulgent soak in the bathtub. The bathroom is also well equipped with a hairdryer and plenty of counter space by the sink.

However, as comfy as the room is, there’s no point staying in it all day. After all, there’s plenty to do outside. There are a few facilities for guests, such as a swimming area, a gym and a spa. So, not only do you get to squeeze in some exercise during your staycation, you can also fit in a nice massage session!

The swimming area is a decent sized pool, with both an adult pool and a kids pool for families to relax in. The gym is well-equipped, so there is no excuse to skip your arm or leg day! The spa also offers several services, so browse through their menu and pick a few to help you relax. Also, with the nearby Ampang Park LRT station, getting to KLCC is easy as it’s only a stop away.

Of course, one of the main worries when it comes to staycations are the prices. We have to admit, a holiday isn’t always cheap. However, there are apps, such as Traveloka, that can help streamline your holiday planning and offer affordable deals. With that being said… don’t hesitate to treat yourself if you’re overdue a long break!
