Before we go into the holy month of Ramadan, let’s all have a good laugh by pranking each other on April Fool’s Day. If you’re not one to prank or be pranked then that’s okay cause some people are already doing the work for you.
Some of these companies and brands here in Malaysia are having some fun today (Friday, 1st April) by sharing or announcing “new” products and promotions on their social media platforms for the people try out.
1. myNEWS Malaysia
Although durian is a favourite among many Malaysians, there are some things that should never be durian flavoured. myNews Malaysia just announced their new Musang King flavoured latte today. Described as “a creamy, aromatic masterpiece”. It may be an April Fool’s joke but would you actually take a sip?
2. Subway
Durian flavoured chips or crisps aren’t new but durian flavoured cookies? Subway is “adding” this new peculiar flavoured cookies on their menu. We’re not sure if this person is being serious or not but user @eldksk_duwkii commented on the post asking if the cookies will still be available after Ramadan.
3. Starbucks
We don’t know about you but this does not even sound good. Even the caption, “creamy yummy nectar to your lips, with chunks of durian flesh swirling in a pool of vanilla goodness,” is enough to make anyone imagine the texture and taste. Nope!
4. Daboba Malaysia
Finally, something that is not durian but not in any way better. It’s Daboba Malaysia’s Lady Fingers Smoothie! 100% Organic Okra they say. A very unique ice blended drink topped with sambal belacan. Good for your health we would assume.
5. Spade’s Burger
Some people are just into BBC and this new big addition to the menu might actually be to your liking. But we understand everyone has their own size preferences just like this one user who commented that they’re afraid it might not fit.
6. Family Mart
FamilyMart ice-creams are always good especially on a hot day but to make it even hotter, the shop is introducing their new Vanilla Sofuto with chicken floss and chili sauce. This way you can be hot and cool at the same time.
7. Durex
You’ve probably heard of the Nasi Lemak flavoured condoms before but what chewable ones? When you’re out of gum, you can just take out Durex’s new condoms and chew away for better breath and better sex.
8. Zus Coffee
Always want to feel like a CEO? You’re in luck (or not) as ZUS Coffee is bringing you the new President Latte that cost only RM 999.90! That price is nothing to a CEO so what are you waiting for? Drink like a boss!
Nothing here is meant to be taken seriously though, it’s all in good fun. Even if you forgot what today is, if something is too bad (or too good?) to be true then it probably is. But if any of these did turn out to be real, which one(s) do you want to try?
