April is finally here! A very happy Ramadan Kareem to our Muslim friends and just because it’s Ramadan, doesn’t mean you should be missing out on the fun.

For this week’s Hype Picks, we’re bringing you some fun activities for you to enjoy, delicious food and restaurants for you to try (and for iftar). Plus, we’ve compiled several events in Klang Valley for you to check out!

Food

1. Malatoop

You can be as creative as you want because you can pick your own ingredients and spice levels for their signature bowl. That’s not all, they have other dishes on the menu like chicken wings and steamed fish!

2. Base Camp KL

3. Dodo Dim Sum and Bowls

Location: Subang Parade

Who wouldn’t love some Dim Sum for lunch or dinner (or iftar)? You can invite your friends and family to spend time and enjoy delicious meals at this restaurants. For Muslims, don’t worry, it’s halal.

1. Give Shoes, Give Love

Location: Any Running Lab store

Project Love Sneaker is a shoe-donation drive organised by Running Lab Malaysia to serve the running community’s desire to recycle their “retired” running shoes for a good cause. Simply drop off your preloved running shoes at any Running Lab store from 1st – 30th April and you get a RM150 Running Lab shoe voucher for every pair of preloved running shoes you donate in good condition.

2. Raya Fashion Showcase 2022

Location: Isetan, KLCC

If you’re not sure what to shop yet for this year’s Raya, then maybe this Fashion Show, featuring 19 brands with their latest Raya 2022 collections, will give some new colourful inspiration and ideas!

3. Art Expo Malaysia | Art For All

Date:  8th April – 10th April

Time:  11:30am to 8pm (8th – 9th), 11:30am – 7pm (10th)

Location: GMBB. No.2 Jalan Robertson, Bukit Bintang 50150 Kuala Lumpur

Working hand-in hand with National Art Gallery, 20 best galleries in Malaysia and Henry Butcher Art Auctioneers, the art event will feature over 500 artworks across diverse mediums by 100 local and international artists.

4. Building the Beca Exhibition

Time: 2pm-10pm (weekday) 12pm-10pm (weekend)

Location: KongsiKL

A last chance to view the remnants of a Beca maker’s workshop, the machinery and custom-made hand tools, used in the making of the unique Kuala Lumpur Beca.

5. Karnival Kembara Raya Ambang Aidilfitri 2022

Location: Dataran Orang Kaya Haji Lipis

It wouldn’t be Ramadan and Raya without a bazaar and you’re going to want to check out this one on 9th April until 2nd May! Get ready for the festivity by buying all you need!

6. Body For Raya 3.0

Time: 9pm – 10pm (Tuesday & Friday)

Location: Sisi Studio & Event Space, Ampang Putra, KL

Planning to get in shape for Raya? How about joining Body For Raya for a little work out after iftar. Even if you’re not there to work up a sweat, you can still have some fun dancing by joining the zumba class.
