(Video) TikToker Films Lady Booking Parking Spot In Berjaya Times Square

Malaysians have differing mentalities when it comes to ‘booking’ things. Some people agree with the common reasoning of “first come, first serve”. However, others think they are entitled to get it, if their friend helps hold a place for them.

For some reason, a Malay woman decided to apply this logic to grabbing a parking spot for her friend. Needless to say, not everyone was impressed.

TikTok user Amira shared that she had gone shopping in Berjaya Times Square. It was there that she had a curious encounter. As she was roaming the parking lot in her car, she noted a woman standing in the middle of a lot while holding a pink suitcase. Amira soon realised the lady was ‘booking’ the lot for someone.

Amira had her suspicions confirmed when another car drove up to the almost-empty lot. The car apparently tried to reverse into said lot. However, they were stopped, presumably by the lady. After a few moments, the car drove away. Amira found it funny that the lady was still ‘booking’ parking lots like this. She added that she felt sorry for the driver.

Another video showed a car parked in the space and a group of people huddled around the trunk of the car. Amira added that ‘booking’ a spot like this wasn’t allowed. However, she also stated that no one really said anything nor reprimanded the lady. Amira assumed it was because there were plenty of other spots.

Some netizens thought she should report the lady, others shared they would have ignored her and parked in the spot anyway. Most netizens agreed that the lady’s actions were selfish and self-centred. A few however made quips about it.

One comment stated the lady was actually attempting to sell her suitcase. “Oh no,” Amira teasingly replied. “I didn’t think of that. If I’d known that yesterday, I would have asked her how much.” Another jokingly said, “I hear she is still guarding that parking (spot) till now.”

Finding a parking spot can be frustrating, but having someone blocking you off after you find one is more agitating. Hopefully someone would tell off this lady for booking parking spots this way. After all, we aren’t in primary school anymore!
