The Badminton Asia Team Championships (BATC) 2022 may be over, but more tournaments are to come. Among those is the well-anticipated All England Championships. Badminton fans aren’t the only ones looking forward to the tournament. Professional player Lee Zii Jia (李梓嘉) is too!
Since ending his spat with BAM, Zii Jia has been keeping busy. To prepare for the international tournament, Zii jia formed his own badminton club and selected Indra Wijaya as coach. However, it was recently announced that badminton manufacturer Victor will be his new sponsor.

Victor broke the news yesterday (24th February) on their socials. The brand made an official announcement to welcome Zii Jia back to their family, citing this as their second journey with the World No. 7 player. “What really impressed me is VICTOR’s professionality and dedication. Also, their trust and accompany makes me feel like home,” Zii Jia was quoted as saying.
Zii Jia himself added to the announcement with a personal message on his socials. “So humbled and honored to be back as one of @victorsport_official global ambassador,” the Malaysian ace stated. “The team is always there to support me in most of my important achievements.” The 23-year-old shared he was excited to begin his new journey with them as “a brand new Lee Zii Jia“. As he eloquently summarised, “(I’m) ready to challenge and ready to win.”
The sponsorship could not come at a better time. According to New Straits Times, Victor also revealed that Zii Jia will be using their equipment during the German Open and All-England, which is scheduled to take place on 8th-13th March and 16th-20th March respectively. Additionally, this will be Zii Jia’s second time collaborating with the Taiwanese sports equipment company. BAM had once signed with Victor in 2015 before they returned to Yonex in 2021.

Additionally, Zii Jia isn’t the only one with a sponsor. Women’s singles shuttler Goh Jin Wei (吴堇溦) has thankfully found a sponsor of her own! She will supposedly be starting her professional career with the Sunlight Sports Group.
Well, all the best to Zii Jia and Jin Wei as they continue preparing for tournaments. The pressure may be on for them to make it big now, but we’re sure both Zii Jia and Jin Wei are ready for it.
