Malaysian citizens got quite a shock this morning (25th February)! Most felt the ground quake and those in buildings felt them sway. The unexpected earthquake caused quite a panic.
However, local influencer Yumi Wong (黄诗棋) had a very different line of thinking when it came to the earth shaking event.

Friday may be a work day for most people, but for Miss Yumi, her day apparently starts later. Around 9:30am, the influencer was still in bed. Unfortunately, her sleeping-in schedule was heavily disturbed by 9:45am. She was startled out of it when she felt her bed shaking!
The influencer later recounted her experience via her Instagram Story. “Did Malaysia (get hit) by an earthquake around 9:43am?” she questioned. “Because my bed was shaking several times!” In addition to her bed shaking, the quake also caused things in her kitchen to rattle and move. “I though it was a ghost!” she exclaimed. “(That) scared me!”
Yumi wasn’t the only one who saw things moving as a result of the tremors. Apparently, those in Klang Valley had felt the shake after a 6.2 magnitude earthquake hit West Sumatera this morning. While those on the ground weren’t as affected, those in buildings evacuated after feeling them sway.

Well, we’re not sure if people would prefer being haunted to an earthquake. However, we are grateful that there has yet to be any lasting effects from the ground shaking this morning. Hopefully, people continue to stay safe, both from ghosts and quakes!
