Former national badminton player Lee Zii Jia (李梓嘉) caused quite a stir when he decided to go solo. After feuding with the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) for over a week, he was finally given blessings to do so.
Well, a lot has changed since last year. Perhaps in an effort to embody the change, Zii Jia tried to tinker with his name on Instagram. Unfortunately, we don’t think it turned out the way he wanted it to.

If you take a peek at Zii Jia’s Instagram account, he keeps his bio fairly updated. Apparently, he’d changed the name on his biography at one point to Kobeh Lee. However, recently, he replaced it with his real name and added his name in Mandarin beside it.
The change occurred on 10th February. Usually, a name change on Instagram isn’t a big deal. After all, some do it for kicks and giggles while others may have reasons and intentions for changing it. However, what caught netizens’ eyes was his name in Mandarin.
Zii Jia’s Mandarin name is 李梓嘉 (Lee Zii Jia). But, his bio at the time of writing reads 老梓嘉 (Lao Zii Jia). The typo is small but a drastic one as his name now means “Old Zii Jia”. Needless to say, it’s sent netizens into fits of laughter. It’s also ironic given that his new profile picture is of a very young Zii Jia.

Unfortunately for Zii Jia, he won’t be able to correct his typo anytime soon as Instagram has a restriction on how many times you can change your name. Any more than twice, and you’ll have to wait two weeks before you can modify your name again.
Well, it seems like Zii Jia will be “Old Zii Jia” for the time being. We’re sure he’ll change it as soon as the two weeks are up. For now, he’ll just have to deal with being “old”!
