Online shopping has been a thing for awhile now. However, when the pandemic hit us in 2020, online shopping has become ‘THE’ thing. It’s convenient and sometimes it’s even cheaper than items sold in physical stores, although it does take some time for the products to reach us.
Due to the hype it has been getting, most of the people around us have started their own online business. Everyone is trying to be an entrepreneur, and as you can see, pretty much everything can be found to be sold online. You name it; food, tech gadgets — hey, even a shoulder to cry on is sold on the internet!
An online seller on Shopee with the shop name xxbabynetfx, has gone viral on social media recently for selling her service of lending a shoulder to cry on! She has put up an advertisement on the online shopping app as “An ear to lend”, that costs only RM1! She described the service in the product details section, “Would you like to express everything that you have kept inside for so long? Just chat me up, I will give you the attention you deserve. We care (for) your mental health.”
She must have been kidding right? How good can the service be and would people even actually buy it? Some have apparently paid for her service! Buyers even left good reviews on her profile for her service! A buyer commented, “Service was excellent! She was patient and accommodating and totally understood my situation and helped me out at a time when I was most vulnerable. Thanks so much.”
In one service review, a buyer thanked her for being very accommodating towards the broken-hearted and she did not leave out the chance to once again leave a short advice of, “(I) hope you’re strong in facing life’s hardships. Enjoy the (moment) but also learn from it.” On the other hand, another said her service was nice and one no longer has to pay for overpriced therapists.” Yeah.. Maybe not. We still advice you to go to a licensed therapist if necessary, though.
Some funny responses and reviews could also be seen like how she entertains them when they start telling horror stories to which she replied, “I hope there are better stories next time.” While another buyer reviewed her with just one word, “great,” and she replied with a simple “great buyer.”
It seems like she is not just a good listener but also a funny person. No wonder a buyer mentioned how they’re afraid that they might fall in love with her if they ring her up instead of just texting her.
Would you pay RM1 for a stranger to listen to you vent and whine?
