‘Xperience The Xtraordinary’ With Tiger Street Food Virtual Festival 2021

Covid-19 has forced change upon many of us during the pandemic. Of course, local businesses and brands encountered the same issue we all did; no going out which means no outdoor events. As such, Tiger Beer’s regular street food festivals were impossible… physically.

Tiger Beer, Malaysia’s No. 1 Beer has always been the beer of choice for bold Malaysian street food flavours. The food festivals were often used to champion local street food culture and to offer us a lovely selection of food to enjoy with a nice cold beer. It was a great blow when it seemed the festival might not happen. However, Tiger came up with a solution last year: a virtual food fest for everyone to enjoy!

The good news is that Tiger Street Food Virtual Festival is back, and it’s been improved on with exciting new features. After all, this year, Tiger wants you to ‘Xperience the Xtraordinary’.

1.  Eat good food while looking good

If you want to eat on the streets, why not dress like you belong too? As always, you’ll be able to customise your avatar and this year, you can buy additional pieces to make your avatar look great. However, Tiger doesn’t want you to limit it to the virtual world. You can get streetwear merch in real life too!

Tiger is collaborating with renowned local streetwear brands to truly bring the street culture experience to you. EK Collective, TNT Co, The Swagger Salon, Eversince, Pestle & Mortar, and Dissyco will be curating two exclusive streetwear apparels each, all inspired by various street food. Each week will showcase a different brand for fans to purchase from, so be sure to check out the Hype Store (nope, we’re not related) for anything that catches your eye.

Tiger Town Makes A Bold Return, Expanding To Kuala Lumpur & Penang

Some of the merch will also be included in the Hypefeast drop which allows you to taste the dish which inspired the apparel and enjoy a Tiger Beer and a Tiger Crystal. There is a limited quantity so fans from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Johor Bahru and Ipoh will have to be quick!

2. More cities included means more food!

Last year, Tiger Street Food Virtual Festival had 88 vendors from areas around Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Penang. Of course, this meant that some fans missed out on some really good street food. No worries though! Joyce Lim, Marketing Manager of Tiger Beer has some good news. “This year, we have made the festival bigger by expanding into more cities so fans can immerse themselves in the virtual world where street food and streetwear cultures collide,” he shared.

The festival this time will boast over 100 street food vendors with both classic and innovative dishes. Everyone can wander the virtual street, but only certain areas can order food. Fans from Ipoh, and Johor Bahru can join in the fun this year as their areas have been made available for food deliveries. Festival goers from Kuala Lumpur, Selangor, Penang, Ipoh, and Johor Bahru can enjoy various street food dishes, as long as they are within a 10km radius from the vendors. Of course, don’t forget to heighten your experience with some ice-cold Tiger Beer and Tiger Crystal which can be delivered right to your doorstep.

3. Earning and spending Tiger Coins

Let’s talk currency. Obviously, you’ll be spending cold hard cash on various food, drinks and limited merchandise. But this time, you’ll have another option to help cheapen your spending. Tiger Street Food Virtual Festival has introduced a new virtual currency: Tiger Coins.

What can you use it for? Well, you can use the coins to redeem vouchers and buy exclusive streetwear apparels for your avatar at the Xclusive Store. Best of all, you can easily earn these coins with various games and activities available on the virtual streets! The avatars of Lizz Chloe and Joshua Michael will be hosting the Street Food Dash and Streetwear Hunt games at the festival, so be sure to drop by for some extra virtual cash. Purchasing food and beer also gets you coins. And, if you take an OOTD of your virtual outfit to share on your social media, you can earn even more Tiger Coins.

4. Deals and promos for Tiger products

Food is good, but a drink makes it better. Tiger has generously offered various deals and promotions in light of their virtual fest for you guys to enjoy! Fans can get RM30 off with a minimum spending of RM160 on Tiger Beer or Tiger Crystal using the promo code STREETFOOD30 while exploring the virtual festival.

Bundle deals are excluded, of course, but there are other exclusive promotions on their Drinkies website, so be sure to check it out! Additionally, you can enjoy RM2 off purchases of big bottles of Tiger products when you order food from selected participating local street food vendors on foodpanda.

Tiger Street Food Virtual Festival will be launching tomorrow (12th November). It will continue for the next six weeks until 19th December – on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday only – from 11am to 9pm. You can sign up for the festival at their website and visit their Facebook and Instagram for more information.
