Despite missing out in the top three spots in the final round of the 3m individual springboard diving event at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics game yesterday, the excellent performance displayed by Nur Dhabitah Sabri remains the talk of the town.
In this case, the young athlete has been showered with limitless amount of support from local netizens. Interestingly, among many Malaysians who shared their words of encouragment include our very own sports legend, Datuk Lee Chong Wei!

LCW posted a video of Dhabitah crying during an interview after failing to secure a medal for Malaysia on his Instagram Story. He wrote, “Don’t cry. You have done great *Hugs*,” before quipping, “I think these athletes worshipped dolphins earlier in the morning. That’s not fair.” The Olympic medalist then added, “Jokes aside. You are awesome @dhabitah_sabri!”
In related news about Dhabitah, the 22-year-old’s old Facebook post recently circulated online, which showed how tough it was for her to train to become a national athlete. For those who are wondering, the social media post was dated way back on 26th August 2016.

“Like I told you before, it is not easy to train and be a world-class athlete. That’s why I really appreciate all of your support and encouragement. Please don’t stop and please don’t start hating me. I am trying my best to be great. P/S: That’s me…being crushed…but I did not die,” Dhabitah wrote.
The FB post, which went viral on several other social media platforms including Twitter, has in turn caught the attention of many netizens. Most of them took to the replies section and expressed their pride on Dhabitah’s achievements. Not only that, others also congratulated Dhabitah and continued to throw their support for her – including Malaysian songbird Yuna.
