Fans of the variety show “Running Man (런닝맨)” were mournful when Korean entertainer Lee Kwang Soo (이광수) left the show. He officially left the show on 13th June. Kwang Soo, fondly nicknamed “Giraffe” for his height had been with the show for 11 years.
His last episode left many tearful as he prepared gifts for the members as a final farewell. However, as it turns out, Kwang Soo hadn’t forgotten about the show’s staff and crew.
Recently, Yoo Jae-suk (유재석)’s and Kim Jong-Kook (김종국)’s stylists shared letters they had received from Kwang Soo on their Instagram stories. Aside from leaving them with personalised messages, Kwang Soo mentioned some inside jokes he shared with them.
“Ju Eun, I knew you would one day appear on TV,” he wrote teasingly to Jae-suk’s stylist, Lee Ju Eun (이주은). “Look at your Instagram photos, I (already) expected it.” The stylist had recently appeared on the program “In shorts, go to work!” On a more serious note, Kwang Soo thanked the stylist for her company and wished her a happy and healthy life. He also had a request for her. “Please take care of (Jae Suk) for me,” he wrote, adding a small heart.
To Jung-kook’s stylist, Choi Ji-sun (최지선), Kwang Soo said he found it odd to give her his signature. “I have a lot of memories with you,” he wrote. “I was so thankful and happy every time.” As with Ju Eun, he wished her well and asked Ji-sun to look after Jung-kook. However, he had one more request for her. He jokingly asked her to text him about her neck tattoo. When Ji-sun replied him on Instagram, she added the message, “Stop talking about tattoos,” which amused many.
Fans and netizens were delighted with the messages. Many cooed about how much Kwang Soo cared for Jung-kook and Jae-suk. Others adored the relationship he shared with the staff, commenting that they were very close. They also enjoyed Kwang Soo’s teasing over the tattoos.
Kwang Soo may have left “Running Man”, but fans still enjoy his antics off-screen. Clearly, he won’t be leaving the hearts of “Running Man” fans any time soon!
