You can tell that even the big fast food franchises are struggling when they’re offering customers an extra burger in addition to their ongoing promotion.
Just today (Wednesday, 16th June), McDonald’s Malaysia released a new promo poster – calling it the Rio Special deal – where customers can get this set for only RM9.99.
The Rio Special McD deal also comes with fries and coke float. Many are, of course, excited at this limited time promo as it’s only available from 16th till 20th June (now till this Sunday). It got us wondering – has McDonald’s not been able to sell its Riuh Rio Burgers? It doesn’t help that it was launched so close to the McDonald’s BTS Meal too.

Looking at the comments, it appears that the Rio Burgers have been getting quite a bit of a bad review online. Shakti Gopalan pointed out, the Rio Burger was all hype and not worth buying after she experienced stomach upset. Others also agreed that the level of spiciness isn’t really edible.
Lately, we’ve been noticing many fast food franchises trying to come up with the spiciest meal. If you’re a fan of it great, but it’s a pass from us.
