Park Si Yeon (박시연) has finally spoken.
The 41-year-old actress made headlines yesterday (Monday, 18th January) for driving under the influence in broad daylight while she was out in public.

SBS’ ‘8 News’ reported that she crashed into a car at the stoplight in-front of her. She had hit the back bumper of the vehicle while the person was waiting for the traffic light to turn green at a three-way intersection. The incident took place in Songa-pu, Seoul around 11:30 am where traffic police witnessed the encounter.
The South Korean star’s blood alcohol content level was at 0.097%. This not only qualifies her as legally drunk but it could lead to her driver’s license being revoked. Thankfully, Park Si Yeon and the driver that got knocked had no alarming injuries. She was also booked on the charges of drunk driving under the Road Traffic Act and came clean about it at the Seoul Songpa Police Station.

Her agency released a statement:
“Hello, this is Mystic Story.
We are sharing our statement regarding news reports about Park Si Yeon.
First, we sincerely apologise for causing concern with bad news.
Park Si Yeon consumed alcohol with an acquaintance at home on the evening of January 16. On the next day, January 17, she judged that she was no longer drunk and she went out driving her own car. While driving, there was a minor collision, and she agreed to the nearby police’s request for a blood alcohol content level check. It came out that the level met could ultimately lead to her driver’s license revocation.
Regardless of the reason, our agency feels deeply responsible that such an incident involving our artist occurred. Park Si Yeon is also deeply sorry and reflecting on her actions. We once again sincerely apologise for evoking criticism.”
The actress herself also took to her own Instagram account to formally apologise to the public:
“This is Park Si Yeon. As I should personally apologise, I’m cautiously uploading a post on my personal account. First, I sincerely apologise for evoking criticism. Regardless of the reason, it was something that should not have occurred. I thought about it lightly and I am regretting and deeply reflecting on myself. I am so sorry to the people who support and cherish me as well. Once again, I will sincerely reflect on my action.”
