Many are now reliant on restaurants to provide food during the MCO period. However, with the 8pm curfew, this has proved rather difficult.
myBurgerLab in Bangsar left many patrons hungry as they struggled to complete orders by 8pm last Saturday (16th January).

A flood of orders came in before the mandated closing time. The Bangsar branch did their best to complete these orders as they knew people were dependent on them for food. However, by 8:30pm, several delivery riders were still waiting at the restaurant for the orders. By 9pm, the police arrived to ask the restaurant to close in compliance with the MCO rules.
MyBurgerLab posted an apology on their social media, requesting customers to PM them if their orders had been cancelled. “One of our most basic duty in running a restaurant is to feed those who seek food from us. And today we failed some of you,” they stated.
The customers left encouraging comments on the posts, accepting the sincere apology and being understanding of the situation. Some argued that the restaurant was not at fault.
“The entire 8pm closing thing makes very little sense to me. It FORCES a rush of people to gather to BUY food. Takeaway services, convenience stores etc., these should be allowed to open later, to at least 10pm,” a customer commented on Facebook.
Regardless of whether the curfew changes to accommodate citizens, myBurgerLab has certainly done its best with the current circumstances.
