It’s a sad day for moviegoers in Kuala Lumpur.
Just hours ago, GSC took to its social media to announce the permanent closure of 2 outlets in the Klang Valley. The 2 outlets are GSC Cheras Leisure Mall and GSC Berjaya Times Square.
The statement reads:
“We regret to inform you that we have ceased operations in GSC Cheras Leisure Mall and GSC Berjaya Times Square. We’ve had a good long run for GSC Cheras Leisure Mall since 1995 and GSC Berjaya Times Square since 2005, but due to the current situation with opening restrictions due to the CMCO, have had to shutter these cinemas permanently.
With this, we would like to convey our sincere thanks and gratitude to all movie-goers who have long supported GSC Cheras Leisure Mall and GSC Berjaya Times Square.
Please keep an eye out for our reopening in the Klang Valley and stay updated with the latest news on our social media. We cannot wait to welcome you back to our cinemas and look forward to seeing everyone again soon.”

As someone pointed out, there’s currently no more GSC in the Bukit Bintang area following the closure of the Pavilion KL branch.
