A word of caution to all public commuters, especially if you take the LRT regularly.
Earlier today (Wednesday, 16th December), Rapid KL released a statement, informing the public that 2 of its staff members who work as “station officers” have tested positive for Covid-19.

According to the management, the 2 individuals last reported to work during the weekend – on 12th and 13th December respectively. Following the result, the pair are currently undergoing quarantine and seeking treatment at Sungai Buloh Hospital for the time being. Rapid Rail also carried out disinfection and cleaning work last night.
“All other staff who have close contact with the two staff are also instructed to undergo screening tests and self-quarantine for 14 days as stipulated under the MOH standard operating procedures,” the statement reads. It is also understood that disinfection and thorough cleaning are carried out on the trains during peak hours and after operations everyday.

“The management and staff of Prasarana, especially in Rapid Rail and Rapid Bus have been trained to apply the highest standards and protocols for hygiene and sanitation related to Covid-19 in line with the safety and health guidelines set by the MOH to ensure the safety and comfort of passengers,” the statement added. No word yet on which LRT station(s) the workers were stationed at.
In the meantime, passengers are reminded to follow SOPs and register with the MySejahtera app upon arriving at the train stations.
