The long-awaited Starhill Dining is finally here, and it definitely brings a fresh and sophisticated experience to the culinary scene in the city!
As The Starhill is undergoing renovation, the dining spot is currently accessible through JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur’s main entrance.
One of the diners featured in the city’s most riveting dining hotspot is no other than – Luk Yu Tea House. With a reinvigorated menu to complement the elegant Chinoiserie-inspired interiors, the restaurant unveils a new exciting transformation while staying true to the taste of poetic Chinese heritage.
Luk Yu Tea House @ The Starhill Dining can definitely be considered as one of the city’s most high-end restaurant at the moment. The detailed accents on the restaurant’s walls to its floor tiles, combined with the warm lighting presents an amicable ambience – making it one of the prettiest, most elegant Chinese restaurants in the city.
As you would expect from such surroundings, the menu here might be on the slightly pricy end. However, in terms of food, Luk Yu Tea House doesn’t disappoint with its countless choices of mouth-watering dim sum and aromatic teas. We personally enjoyed their Steamed Shanghainese Chicken Dumplings that pops in your mouth with flavourful juice, so much so that we had to order a second serving.
Their tea is also incredibly enjoyable and rejuvenating, proving them to be one of the finest place to get your daily dose of brewery. To quote from their menu, “Each brew embodies the rich heritage of the famous manuscript presenting an aromatic journey to complement the handcrafted dishes here at ‘Luk Yu Tea House’.”
When it comes to their signature dishes, their Deep-fried Salted Egg Prawns is a must-try for those who want to taste a harmonious marriage of tender prawns and thin-crisp coating, with the perfect amount of saltiness that you would expect from a state of the art eatery. For meat-lovers, you can’t go wrong with their Pan-Fried Hills of Darling Lamb Chop in Tastemaker’s Specialty Sauce, that instantly melts in your mouth with every bite.
A meal wouldn’t be complete without desserts, and the Chilled Durian Pancake is recommended. The treat is filled with an appetising Durian cream wrapped in a soft-chilled skin, making it the perfect exploit after a wonderful meal. The sweet course is a wonderful delight, especially for fans of “the king of fruits”.
All in all, we enjoyed the dining experience at The Starhill Dining’s Luk Yu Tea House that was big on flavour and showcased why this spot is a culinary state of the art. Fair warning, having a feast here will leave you longing its taste for days.
