If you have been keeping up with Taylor Swift’s life, then you must know about her continuous battle with record labels.
And now, we come bearing the controversial news that the ownership of her first 6 albums have changed hands for the second time in 17 months – and none of those hands were T-Swift’s.

Ownership of the “Love Story” singer’s early masters were initially with her former label, Big Machine. However, Ithaca Holdings later acquired Taylor’s records when it bought over Big Machine in June 2019, only to now sell them for a thumping sum to Shamrock Holdings.
This was done against the country music stars’ wishes or knowledge, as it was no secret that Taylor has been fighting for the rights to her own masters for the past year.
However, following the news of Ithaca Holdings Owner, Scooter Braun, reselling Taylor’s masters, the 30-year-old singer is responding with some big moves that have got Swifties dizzy with excitement!

In a social media post shared this morning (17th November), the Grammy winner revealed that she has begun re-recording her older music.
“I have recently begun re-recording my older music and it has already proven to be both exciting and creatively fulfilling,” wrote the American superstar. “I have plenty of surprises in store. I want to thank you guys for supporting me through this ongoing saga, and I can’t wait for you to hear what I’ve been dreaming up.”

The award winning artist also revealed that her team received a letter from Shamrock Holdings a few weeks ago – even though Scooter had apparently asked them not to contact the singer – stating that the group had bought all of her music, videos and album art from Ithaca Holdings.
A letter that Taylor sent in response to Shamrock Holdings getting in touch with her was also included in the post. Take a look at it here:

Swifties, including singer-songwriter Sara Bareilles, were quick to express their support towards the “Blank Space” hit-maker for not staying silent on the matter. Taylor’s fans also flooded her with unbound love and excitement for her upcoming re-recorded labels.
Here are a few of their tweets:
I will never not feel like this is just fucking robbery. Greed is a virus too and it's everywhere. Fuck that. @taylorswift13 sending you love. https://t.co/4FTNAAFYpw
