Last week, it was announced that the 1 Utama cluster was the largest contributor to Covid-19 cases in Selangor.
Following that, OldTown White Coffee released a statement last night, announcing that a staff member from 1 Utama Shopping Centre had tested positive for Covid-19.

According to the statement, the worker has not reported to work or entered the mall since 11th October. As such, the outlet in 1 Utama will be closed until further notice. All outlet staff there have also been instructed to stay at home and self-isolate.
When asked about the situation, an admin from 1 Utama’s Facebook replied, “The OldTown staff’s last day in 1 Utama was on 11th Oct – the same day where our mall has already been closed for deep cleaning and sanitisation. He was also tested negative. Hence the source of his virus is not from 1 Utama but elsewhere where he could have easily contracted Covid from. We only reopened on 17th Oct and our opening has been endorsed by MOH. Nevertheless, we wish their staff a speedy recovery and hope he gets well soon.”
Do remember to follow the safety SOP when visiting malls or going out, including wearing mandatory face masks and temperature screening.
