Another K-pop star is taking a hiatus to fulfil his mandatory military service, and this time it’s EXO member Chen (real name Kim Jong Dae, 김종대)!
Earlier today (Friday, 16th October), it was revealed that the new daddy will be enlisting in the army later this month.
The 28-year-old vocalist came up with a touching letter to personally address the surprising news to his fans. Feel free to read his full statement here:
“Hello, this is Chen. Are you all doing well despite the constantly changing weather? The hot summery days have passed. In a blink of an eye, it’s already autumn. The reason I am writing this is because I wanted to tell you that I am enlisting in the military on 26th October.
“I will fulfill my duties diligently while taking good care of my mental and physical health, so that I can grow as a person during this time away and greet you all with a better image. I hope that you all will continue to live beautifully and healthily like always!! Thank you and I love you ♡”
