Road Transport Department Malaysia (JPJ) recently announced that vehicle licenses can be renewed online starting 9th October.
The government has taken the initiative to make renewing licenses easier following the new normal that requires us to avoid large crowds and practice social distancing.
JPJ’s press release has announced that Motor Vehicle License (LKM) can be renewed online through myEG, starting 9th October 2020. For Competent Driving License (CDL) holders, it will be available starting 16th October 2020.
The press release stated, “For now, myEG’s online service is only for renewing LKM for personal vehicles only. During the last MCO, a number of JPJ’s services had been disrupted following the closing of JPJ counters due to the rampant COVID-19 pandemic.”

“Henceforth, through this initiative, JPJ services will be more efficient and sustainable in ensuring the continuity of quality services delivery for the people,” stated the JPJ. The Road Transport Department uploaded the press release on their Facebook page.
We hope more necessary services come online in the future to help curb the spread of COVID-19.
