Surprise, surprise! Someone’s about to tie the knot.
Just moments ago, it was confirmed that TVXQ member Changmin (창민) is set to marry his non-celebrity partner this year.
The 32-year-old came up with a touching letter to personally announce the delightful news to his fans. Feel free to read it here:
“Hello. This is TVXQ’s Changmin. There is something that I want to share with fans myself, so I am taking the courage to write this letter. It is not something that I can say easily, so I am very nervous right now when writing this.
On one hand, my heart feels heavy and guilty thinking that my sudden news will shock and possibly upset some fans who always support me with great affection. However, I felt that it is my duty to share the news of a major event in my life through my own words rather than through the words of others.
Approximately 17 years have passed since I debuted as a singer. Through that time, a high school student who was naive and imperfect at everything has now reached his mid 30s. I have spent almost half of my life as a member of TVXQ.
Looking back, there was a time when both Yunho (fellow TVXQ teammate) and I, along with fans did not know what would TVXQ become in the future, but fans protected us. And because you gave us great love, we have been able to grow until this point. Thank you so much.
As all of you know, I am currently seeing someone. We have a good and trusting relationship. So, I’ve decided that I want to spend the rest of my life with her, so we made the decision to have our wedding in September around the time when the heat will cool down. Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to Yunho who supported my decision and was happy for me as well as our agency staff who gave me sincere advice.
I will do my best in every moment and with every task I’m given more properly. And I will work hard as the head of a family and also as TVXQ member Changmin so that I can give back more to everyone who gave their supported and encouraged me.

The “Mirotic” hit-maker’s agency, SM Entertainment has also released an official statement to confirm the news. The agency shared:
“Hello, this is SM Entertainment. We are announcing news regarding TVXQ’s Changmin’s marriage news. The wedding is set to be held on 5th September. In consideration of the non-celebrity bride and both families, details of the wedding including the exact location and time will remain private. Therefore, we ask for the generous understanding of fans and also reporters.
Changmin will still remain as a member of TVXQ and an artiste under our agency. Please send your warm congratulatory messages towards Changmin, who is awaiting a new beginning in his life. Thank you.”
