"Upin & Ipin" Character Fizi Under Fire For Offensive Comment

The character Fizi from popular animated series “Upin & Ipin” has been trending all over social media for all the wrong reasons.

Apparently, the dialogue uttered by the animated character was seen as highly disrespectful for some people, especially the orphans.

In the clip above, the character Mail mentioned the famous saying “Heaven lies beneath mothers’ feet.” Significantly impacted by the statement, one of the twins, Upin questioned, “If we have no mother?” to which Fizi blatantly replied that there is no heaven for those with no parent, much to everyone’s dismay.

As a result, production company Les’ Copaque’s official Instagram has been attacked by enraged viewers, especially from neighbouring country Indonesia. Whereas in Malaysia, many netizens have taken to Twitter to express their frustration and disappointment towards the cartoon character for his insensitive remark.
