After 16 years in the entertainment business, Vivien Yeo (楊秀惠) has officially parted ways with TVB.
The 35-year-old actress recently returned to her hometown in Malaysia where she gave birth to her first child – a baby girl. The new mum is currently undergoing her confinement period with the tiny tot.
It is believed that Vivien had been wanting to get out of her contract for quite some time, but TVB reportedly refused. However, due to the new birth of her baby and travel restrictions from the Covid-19 outbreak, her work has been impacted in a big way. As a result, TVB finally relented to terminate her contract ahead of schedule.
In her announcement, the Johor-born actress said:
“Thank you everyone for your support all along. My contract with TVB had already ended. Firstly, I’d like to thank TVB for giving me so many opportunities ever since I came to Hong Kong. I’m very grateful. These past 2 years, the company had arranged plenty of good roles for me to play.
They also gave me opportunities to fly overseas to do travel and hosting shows. Regretfully, I couldn’t coordinate my schedules with these projects and had to drop out. Nevertheless, I’m extremely grateful to TVB and all my colleagues for helping me all these years. Please forgive me for not being able to thank each one of you personally. I will continue to work hard, and take care of my family and business.”
Vivien signed with TVB after joining Miss Chinese International 2004 pageants. Her big breakthrough came during 2018’s “The Learning Curve of a Warlord”. She recently appeared in “Brutally Young”, which is her last TVB project.
Besides her acting career, Vivien has been investing in her beauty spa business.
