Datuk Lee Chong Wei has some friendly advice to all the locals out there.
Recently, the badminton legend took to his Instagram to share his recent story when everyone was busy with their panic buying in preparation to face the rumoured Malaysia lockdown.
Chong Wei opened the caption, “Two days ago, there was a rumour of a restriction order regarding the coronavirus. So Mew Choo asked me to go and buy the essential things for the next 2 weeks. My wife is smarter when it comes to add maths, so I followed her shopping list.”
He further recalled, “But by the time I arrived at the supermarket, oh my! There were a lot of aunties and makcik-makcik. It’s like there was a trolly marathon happening! Even can beat Khairul Jantan! Luckily I managed to get the items in the list.”
Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to get his hands on the most important thing on the checklist – toilet paper! “I gaped while watching a man in front of me taking away 10 bags of toilet rolls. (Presumably) He has a lot of poop at his house.” Despite that, he was fortunate enough that a friend who lived nearby was willing enough to hand him a bag of the much-needed item.
In the same post, Chong Wei left a message for the public to not to worry about the recurring situation. Believing that the outbreak will come to an end one day, he further advised that everyone, regardless of race and religion, to give full cooperation and help each other in this critical condition.
