Hold on, is Daiso Malaysia pulling an April’s Fool joke on us?
Earlier this week, a notice announcing the company’s closure started circulating online. In the image, Daiso stated that their last day of business will be on 31st March before the official closure on 1st April.
The notice gave the impression that Daiso was closing down all the outlets in the country. Immediately, social media was flooded with netizens expressing their sadness and disappointment on the sudden closure. Of course, people were confused as well.
However, Daiso has come forth to rectify the situation – explaining that the previous poster was only meant for Daiso Kuantan East Coast Mall. The management intended to reassure customers that outlets in Kuala Lumpur, Johor Bahru, Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Miri and Pulau Pinang were still operating as usual.
The previous notice was removed and replaced with an updated notice, with an apology for causing the confusion.
