Original article follows:
Calling all Star Wars fans, the battle between light and darkness approaches. So get ready to pick your side when you join Southeast Asia’s first ever Star Wars Virtual Run.
Registration is already open to public and runners can clock in their run distance starting from May the 4th (derived from the iconic phrase “May the Force Be With You”) in celebration of Star Wars Day.
So how does this work?
The Star Wars Virtual Run is open to participants in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam and the Philippines. You can register through the MOVE app available on Google App and the App Store. Proceed by choosing the Light Side or the Dark Side. For those who have registered, the clock-in period is between 4th – 31st May.
There are 2 types of distances: Runners can choose to run solo in the 5.4km (Individual) or partner up with a buddy in the 40km (Individual or Group of Two) where the distances can be completed all at once or over a period of time. The MOVE app will track the distance and time of runs. Participants can also use any integrated trackers such as MapMyRun, Apple HealthKit and Google Fit.
Finisher trophies will be delivered to participants’ registered addresses. Merchandise such as Pass Holder and Mobile Phone Stand are also available for purchase on the app.
