Calling all K-drama addicts, “My Holo Love” (나 홀로 그대) has debuted! It stars Yoon Hyun-min (윤현민) and Go Sung-hee (고성희) in lead roles.
Thanks to Netflix, we recently had the chance to interview the 2 main leads on their experience for “My Holo Love”, which deals with Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Since Nan-do and the AI are 2 very different characters, Hyun-min had a difficult time navigating back and forth between his dual roles. One of the challenges was crying in a very specific method. Apparently, being emotional wasn’t enough.
“After filming, the director came up to me and said that we had to reshoot because AIs cannot cry the way I had just done. Usually, the tears will come at the corner of my eye. But they wanted it to fall from the centre of my eye. I jokingly responded by asking the director to do it. So, for me that was one of the difficult scene to finish. We spent over 2 to 3 hours just to shoot that scene,” the South Korean star told us.

During our chat, Hyun-min also shared about his process where he’d have to take a bath before getting into the head space of another character. “Switching back and forth between the characters – Holo and Nan-do – was very difficult because there were days I had to take a shower 7 times per day because I had to change to and fro between the 2 characters multiple times. I thought I was the cleanest person ever on set,” the 34-year-old actor said.
